Mutant
Love is a
series of sci-fi comic books on “genetic supermen”, suitable for teenagers who
have learned 800-1,000 Chinese words, equivalent to those who have learned
Chinese for two years in senior high school or three years in junior high
school in North America.
The story of Mutant Love happens in China in 2050. Three high school students,
after being genetically enhanced, are experiencing huge changes in their
characters and lives. They fight against one another, cooperate with one
another, and finally work together to save their kidnapped school master and
stop a disaster that may threaten human society.
This is Book 5 of the
series. With Bai Zhenzhen’s help, Sun Mumu and his friends find their school
master Mr. Sun, who explains the reason for his disappearance and gives Sun
Mumu and Zhang Xiaotian a letter to Doctor Chen, asking him to do an operation
on Bai Zhenzhen. Under everybody’s joint effort, Dr. Chen successfully finishes
the operation. Mr. Sun goes back to the school and the school’s annual ball
takes place in time. But who are the guys that tried to kidnap Sun Mumu? What
was their purpose? These remain unknown…
Liang
Jing, a master of arts (Beijing Normal University) and former editor of BLCUP’s Language Learning. Later Liang went
to study in the Graduate College of Education, San Francisco State University
and obtained a California teaching credential for primary and secondary school
Chinese. Having been a CFL teacher for many years, Liang is now a Chinese
teacher in Lowell High School (San Francisco) and a committee member of Chinese
Language Teachers Association of California.
