Based on the Outline of Chinese Language Proficiency Level, this book series has four levels for students to choose. They can select the volume that suits them best in accordance with their own language proficiency level. Most of the articles in this book series are selected from newspapers, magazines and other books, giving a panorama of China and life of Chinese people. It can help students better recognize and read Chinese characters, learn more new words by heart, improve their level of Chinese proficiency and enhance their understanding of China.
Cui Yonghua, Professor of Beijing Language and Culture University, has been studying Chinese teaching and research since 1981. His research areas are Chinese grammar, Chinese teaching and Chinese information processing. Prof. Cui's representative works are Teaching Skills in a TCFL Class (co-writer) and Research on TCFL. He was not only the co-author of many Chinese textbooks, such as Learning Chinese, Chinese Language Spoken in Hengshan, Standard Chinese, but also the author of tens of papers in the above areas. Prof. Cui directed and worked for many academic projects of the national and ministries and commissions levels, one of which is entitled "Chinese Character Component Standard of Information Processing".
