Compiled by Beijing Language and Culture University and Taipei Language Institute, this dictionary is the first medium-sized language dictionary produced by scholars from both sides of the Taiwan Straits. The dictionary includes 8,000 Chinese characters and almost 45,000 entries in total. In addition to the Chinese words shared by both sides, the dictionary also includes words that are used by one side only and compares the different character patterns, pronunciations and meanings of the related words. This dictionary can not only be used as a reference book for everyday use, but also contribute to the understanding of the Chinese language differences between the two sides.
