This is an
academic monograph studying children's language acquisition. Based on the theories
and studies on morpheme characterization and processing as well as the latest findings
on the occurrence and development of children's morpheme consciousness, this
book makes detailed explorations and discussions in terms of the various
aspects of pre-school pupils and elementary school students' Chinese morpheme
awareness, and the relationship between children's morpheme awareness
development and their Chinese language and reading development. Morpheme
awareness shows a bilateral relationship with vocabulary and reading
development in this book. Meanwhile, it makes some suggestions on how to
develop children's morpheme awareness based on the research findings.
